How to Plan Wedding Bouquet Preservation with Ever After Bouquet

Your wedding bouquet carries the scent of the morning, the weight of your hands around the stems, and the colors you chose months before the day arrived. When the celebration ends, many couples want to keep that feeling close. This guide walks through the practical steps of bouquet preservation, from booking before the wedding to photographing your flowers before they become a keepsake.

Meet Ever After Bouquet and Founder Crystal

Ever After Bouquet is a floral preservation studio based in Mooresville, North Carolina, led by founder, CEO, and artist Crystal. The studio transforms meaningful flowers into resin keepsakes — handcrafted pieces designed to be treasured for generations. Crystal has preserved over 1,000 love stories since launching the business in 2020, and her work has been featured in ELLE and BRIDES.

The studio accepts flowers from across the country. You can ship your blooms or drop them off locally at the Mooresville studio by appointment.

Once you’ve decided to preserve your flowers, the next step is understanding how the process unfolds. From choosing what to keep to arranging the handoff, here’s what to plan.

Choose What You Want to Preserve

Before you book, decide what you want to keep. You do not have to preserve the entire bouquet. Many couples preserve specific stems — the roses from their ceremony, a flower that matches a grandparent’s garden, or the blooms closest to their heart. Others keep the full arrangement.
Ever After Bouquet offers a range of resin keepsake options, from functional items like serving trays and coasters to decorative pieces designed for display. When you browse the studio’s collection, think about where the piece will live: a wall, a shelf, a table. That decision helps guide the shape and composition you choose.
Air-dried flowers can also be preserved, even if they are older than a decade. If your flowers are already dried, email a photo to the studio so they can advise on the best approach.

Book Preservation Before the Wedding

Reserve your spot before the wedding, not after. Ever After Bouquet’s calendar fills quickly, and a $100 deposit secures your date. You can book online through the studio’s scheduling system and then purchase your keepsake items at your convenience. Payment plans are available at checkout.

The studio asks that fresh flowers arrive within 4–5 days after your event to ensure the blooms are in optimal condition for preservation. If more than four days have passed, the studio may still accept them with approval, provided you send a photo of their current condition.

If your wedding date is already full, you can email the studio with your location, a photo of your flowers, and the items you would like to order. They may be able to accommodate a last-minute booking or suggest alternatives.

Arrange Bouquet Handoff and Shipping

The days after your wedding are busy. Before the celebration, assign one person to take responsibility for your bouquet. This could be a bridesmaid, a family member, or your planner. That person should know where the flowers need to go and when.

If you are shipping, Ever After Bouquet provides detailed instructions in an automated email once your order is placed. A discounted, pre-paid shipping label may be purchased on the studio’s website. The box must not exceed 14″ x 14″ x 14″ or 15 pounds, and shipping materials are not included.

If you are dropping off locally in Mooresville, appointments are typically available the Monday following your event. If your wedding falls during the week, flowers may be dropped off the day after by confirmed appointment. Weekend drop-offs are not available.

Understand Design Approval, Color, and Natural Variation

Preserved flowers are not fresh flowers, and they will not look exactly the same as they did on your wedding day. During the preservation process, flowers undergo natural changes in color, shape, and texture. Some petals may develop translucent spots. Resin itself can shift in tone over time.

Ever After Bouquet uses high-quality UV-resistant resin to slow the natural aging process, and the studio offers a black background option for couples who want to minimize the appearance of color change. Crystal’s team may recommend color correction for flowers prone to browning, such as calla lilies, white or red roses, and tropical blooms.

Before the final piece is cast, you may have the opportunity to review a mockup or design plan. Ask about this during your consultation so you know what to expect and when your approval is needed.

Photograph the Bouquet Before It Becomes a Keepsake

Your bouquet will change once it leaves your hands. Before you ship it or drop it off, take time to photograph it in its original state.
Ask your photographer for detail shots of the bouquet on its own — the full arrangement, the texture of the petals, the ribbon, and any meaningful additions like a locket or a family heirloom wrapped into the stems. These photos preserve the bouquet as it looked on your wedding day, before preservation begins.
You can also take portraits holding the bouquet, both alone and with your partner. These images connect the flowers to the people and the moment. When you look at your preserved keepsake years later, those photographs will help you remember the day around it.
